As you enter El Nido, you are welcomed by the warmth of our staff and the glow from the fire. The dining room is intimate and engaging, with original tin chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, colorful murals adorning the walls, and an open view of the live fire cooking station. The bar is elegant and effervescent, offering creative cocktails, a robust wine list, craft beer, and a surprising selection of saké. Our heated garden portal, located just beyond the bar, offers al fresco dining for most of the year, taking full advantage of Santa Fe’s ideal climate.

Our Story
El Nido “The Nest” holds a colorful and intriguing history that goes as far back as its origins in the 1920s. Once a roadhouse, brothel, and meeting place of los alamos scientists while building the bomb during WWII. In the 1950s, it became a draw for locals as well as movie stars and creative types of the time. This included artist Will Shuster, whose Zozobra drawings once hung in the arches of El Nido’s Zozobra Bar. During the same time, the stage room launched flamenco with world-famous dancers Vicente Romero and Maria Benitez. Today we celebrate this rich history within its adobe walls and showcase live fire cooking. Our Argentinian grill and wood burning horno is central to our rustic cooking. We source hardwoods, proteins and vegetables locally when possible. Check out our six color hats, t-shirts worn in the restaurant, they are for sale.
